THROW BACK BOXING

OUR STORY

RESPECT THE PAST. INSPIRE THE FUTURE.

OUR STORY

EVERYONE STARTS SOMEWHERE.

For me, it started when I was 12 years old.

Inspired by Bruce Lee, I found my way into boxing and through the doors of my old boxing gym.

At that age, I didn't realise how much those doors would change my life.

Boxing gave me more than a sport. It taught me discipline, respect, hard work and dedication. It taught me about winning and losing, getting knocked back and finding the strength to carry on.

But looking back, it wasn't just boxing that taught me those lessons.

It was the people.

My dad and my old boxing coaches were part of those early years. People who gave their time, shared their knowledge and helped shape the person I would become.

And then there were the friendships.

We were young lads growing up together through boxing. We travelled together, trained together, stepped into rings, celebrated victories and dealt with defeats.

We fought, we cried, we bled, we laughed.

We saw each other at our best and our worst.

And through it all, we were there for one another.

At the time, we were just lads doing something we loved. We didn't realise we were building friendships and memories that would stay with us for life.

Life moved on, as it does.

But boxing never really left me.

Years later, following the loss of a coach and with the future of my old boxing gym uncertain, I found myself back where so much had started.

Only this time, I wasn't walking through those doors just for myself.

I was bringing my son.

And standing alongside me were two of those same lads I'd grown up with through boxing.

The lads I'd travelled with, fought alongside, laughed with and shared so many moments with.

Only now, we weren't the young boxers looking up to our coaches anymore.

We were the coaches.

Together, we helped keep the gym going, giving another generation the same opportunities we'd once been given.

And that's when something really started to make sense.

The people who had once given their time to us had passed something on. Now it was our turn to do the same.

Not just teaching someone how to box.

Teaching them to believe in themselves. To show respect. To work hard. To understand that setbacks don't have to be the end of their journey.

And sometimes, just being there for someone who needs it.

And now my younger son has started boxing too, inspired by his big brother.

WHERE THE NAME CAME FROM

The name Throw Back Boxing came from something very personal.

One of the lads I'd grown up boxing alongside was now coaching my son.

He started calling him “Throw Back”.

He recognised something in him that reminded him of the boxers from our generation and the generations before us.

The respect. The discipline. The dedication. The grit.

The willingness to put in the hard work and the determination to get back up and keep going, no matter how difficult things became.

Those were the values we'd grown up with. Values our coaches had passed down to us, just as their coaches had passed them down before.

And as boxing has changed, we've felt that some of those values are slowly being lost in the way the next generation is taught.

But here was a young boxer from today's generation who carried those same old-school values.

A Throw Back Boxer.

Someone from today's generation with the heart, attitude and determination of a boxer from a different era.

Someone you look at and think:

They were born in the wrong era.

That's what my friend saw in my son.

And that's where the name came from.

THROW BACK BOXING.

It wasn't about living in the past.

It was about recognising something from the past that should never be forgotten.

The respect.

The dedication.

The grit.

The desire to get back up and keep going.

It was about remembering the people who taught us those values and making sure they were passed on to the generations that followed.

Because boxing will always change.

But some things should never be lost.

MORE THAN BOXING

As time went on, I started thinking about what Throw Back Boxing could become.

Yes, I wanted to create a clothing brand.

Something with its own identity. Something built around the values I'd grown up with. Clothing people could be proud to wear.

But I didn't want it to be just another clothing brand.

Because the biggest lessons boxing taught me weren't only about what happened inside the ring.

They were about life.

About getting back up when things go wrong.

About showing up when you don't feel like it.

About working hard when nobody is watching.

About understanding that everybody has their own battles, and not all of them are visible.

I've seen how much difference a little encouragement, belief or simply giving someone your time can make.

And I wanted Throw Back Boxing to carry that same message beyond the boxing gym.

Because you don't have to be a boxer to understand what it means to struggle.

You don't have to train to know what it feels like to face a challenge.

And you don't have to win a medal or achieve something extraordinary for your effort to matter.

Maybe today you went for a walk.

Maybe you tried something new.

Maybe you found the courage to start again.

Or maybe you simply got through a difficult day that nobody else knows about.

That matters.

Everyone has a different journey.

Everyone has their own starting point.

And sometimes the smallest step can be the most important one.

That's the community I want Throw Back Boxing to help build.

A place where people encourage one another, recognise effort and understand that progress isn't always measured by trophies, titles or achievements.

You don't have to box.

You don't have to train.

You don't even have to wear Throw Back to be part of what we stand for.

Because the message matters more than the clothing.

FOUR DIFFERENT STORIES. ONE DIRECTION.

As the idea developed, Throw Back Boxing became four different ranges.

Each with its own story, identity and purpose.

OLD SCHOOL — RESPECT THE PAST.

This is where it all began.

The old gyms, the coaches, the friendships, the memories and the people who gave their time to help us become who we are.

It's about never forgetting where you came from or the people who helped you along the way.

NEXT GEN — INSPIRE THE FUTURE.

This is about the next generation.

The young lads and girls coming through today, finding their own way, building their own confidence and making their own memories.

It's about giving them the encouragement, opportunities and belief that others once gave us.

Because everybody deserves a chance to discover what they're capable of.

BORN DIFFERENT — MINDSET.

This is about the journey that nobody else can walk for you.

The setbacks, the doubts, the difficult days and the hard work that happens when nobody is watching.

It's about understanding that you don't have to be the most talented person in the room.

But you can keep showing up.

You can keep learning.

You can keep trying.

And you can refuse to let one difficult moment define the rest of your journey.

LEGACY — WHAT YOU LEAVE BEHIND.

For me, this brings everything together.

Because one day, what really matters won't be the clothes we wore, the things we owned or even the victories we celebrated.

It will be the people we helped.

The lessons we passed on.

The confidence we gave somebody who didn't believe in themselves.

The opportunities we created for someone else.

And the memories that remain long after we've gone.

When I think about my dad, my old coaches, the lads I grew up boxing with and now my own son, that's what Legacy means to me.

Something was passed on to us. Now it's our turn to pass it on.

WHAT I WANT THROW BACK BOXING TO BECOME

I'm proud of the clothing we're creating, and I want every piece to reflect the standards and values behind the name.

But clothing alone was never the reason I wanted to do this.

I want Throw Back Boxing to stand for something.

I want it to encourage people to believe in themselves.

To remind people that setbacks are part of the journey.

To recognise the hard work that nobody sees.

And to help people understand that they don't have to be extraordinary to make progress.

If something we create encourages one person to start, one person to keep going or one person to believe in themselves when they didn't before, then we're building something that matters.

And if that person goes on to encourage somebody else, then the message continues.

Just like the lessons my dad and my old boxing coaches passed on to me.

Just like the friendships that began when we were young lads in the gym.

And just like seeing my son start his own journey brought those memories back all those years later.

That's what I want Throw Back Boxing to be.

Not just a brand people wear.

Something people can believe in.

Because ultimately:

The clothing is the product. The inspiration is the purpose.

And the greatest thing we can leave behind isn't something we keep for ourselves.

It's something we pass on to somebody else.

Because what was passed on to me shouldn't stop with me.
